The Economy Americans Were Promised

In January 2025, President Donald Trump promised Americans he would “bring prices down.” Instead, many families today are facing renewed economic anxiety as inflation rises at its fastest pace in nearly three years.

Consumer prices continue climbing while wages struggle to keep up. Families are paying more for groceries, housing, utilities, insurance, and gasoline. Businesses are also facing higher operating costs, which are often passed directly to consumers. Americans are carrying more debt and saving less, leaving many worried about their financial future.

Recent conflict with Iran added even more pressure as rising gas prices increased the cost of commuting, transportation, and food delivery. Californians especially feel these impacts quickly because higher fuel prices affect nearly every part of daily life.

While the White House continues to describe the economy as strong and price increases as temporary, many Americans simply do not feel that reality at home. Growing public frustration is reflected in declining approval ratings and increasing concern about economic leadership.

Economic uncertainty creates anxiety and frustration, leaving many residents feeling disconnected from national leadership and unheard about the realities they face daily. Americans are asking for affordability, stability, and leadership that understands the financial pressures families face every day.
