Health Care Costs in 2026

Americans are on the brink of a significant increase in health care costs in 2026—an increase that many families simply cannot afford.
There was a bipartisan effort in Congress to pass a clean, three-year extension of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). That effort failed. As a result, millions of Americans now face higher insurance premiums and reduced access to necessary health care. When costs rise beyond reach, people don’t just lose coverage—they lose access to preventive care, treatment, and lifesaving services.
Our elected leaders must put patients and families first. That means expanding choice, stabilizing coverage, and lowering health care costs for all Americans.
The current President and the Republican Party have had more than 25 years to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, which was passed in March 2010. Earlier this year, a major legislative package was approved, yet it failed to address health care affordability or access. Instead, it included cuts to Medicaid and Medicare—programs that individuals and families depend on for serious illness, ongoing treatment, and essential care.
Health care should not be a partisan bargaining chip. It is a basic necessity. Americans deserve leadership that prioritizes access, affordability, and the well-being of families over political delay and broken promises.
